Martina McDonough is a creative designer with a background in graphic design, illustration & with transit as a main concept and focus in her current portfolio. She understands the demand for producing high quality work, and has gained the skills of accuracy and communication from much previous experience. Her portfolio acquires a strong focus in graphic design and illustration that includes a heavy concentration (and passion!) for transportation alternatives. Martina has the knowledge of design trends with the ability to identify how to conceptually and visually portray the client’s needs. She has a strong work ethnic, open mind and design skills that enable a successful design process. Martina is eager to create and communicate fresh, innovative concepts for various audiences.
As a previous designer for Cross County Connection, TMA (CCCTMA), in southern New Jersey (NJDOT, Delaware River Port Authority) she designed various projects from TV commercials, website design, print transit guides, BurLink maps and seminar materials. While Art Director and Senior Graphic Designer at goDCgo (DC Department of Transportation’s sustainable travel program), Martina designed and illustrated various materials for a multitude of transit options such as a major bikeshare program and bus system, along with many other programs promoting transportation alternatives in and around the District.
Martina’s experience ranges from scientific illustrations and diagrams for Harvard and Yale text books; packaging and PDQ displays for EcoZip bags; bridal, baby and birthday invitations; yoga shirt designs; yoga-bicycle posters, fitness and photography logos; and an entire range of materials for a major bikeshare program and bus system station maps and signage. Knowledge and skills in producing infographics, maps, bus schedules, brochures, rack cards, billboards, bus shelter ads & maps, interior and exterior bus advertising, outdoor bike-station signage, web graphics, stationary, logo design, custom illustrations, posters, invitations, T-shirt design, packaging and more! Martina holds a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.
